A photo of the 1783 Lefferts House, circa 1917, and an explanation of its history. A student peers at an object – good practice for the “Object Based Queries” they encounter on state tests. Students and a museum educator discuss objects found in the Lefferts’ family room.
Two students sharpen metal tools on a 19th-century whetstone. Students touch a turn-of-the-century spinning wheel held by a museum educator. A student examines miniature metal soldiers, referencing the Battle of Brooklyn. A student smiles holding a bright silver lantern that once held candles.
