On May 5, 2014, City Access New York names Sophia Rossovsky, M.Ed its new Executive Director to lead efforts that grow and support services for New Yorkers of all abilities.
Prior to this position, Ms. Rossovsky was a program director at the International Institute of New Jersey for 13 years, leading a state-wide training and technical assistance initiative aimed to improve access to and quality of services for diverse populations. She holds a Master’s in Education and Linguistics and has over 20 years of experience in education, professional development, program management and organizational change. She is a Vice Chair of New Jersey Statewide Network for Cultural Competence and a Commissioner in the International Medical Interpreter Association (IMIA) Commission for Medical Interpreter Education (CMIE).
Ms. Rossovsky is an avid advocate for culturally and linguistically appropriate services, presents at various forums and conferences and promotes meaningful communication in all entities.
